'Brewski' two-rowed barley (2ND32184) (Specialty release)

DESCRIPTION

Brewski was a specialty release in 2021 developed by North Dakota State University. It is a two-rowed spring barley with a lax spike. This variety has a better yield potential and lower wort B-glucan level than ND Genesis however it has lower malt extract.  The malt quality and malt extract yield profile is more suited for the craft brewer than the large national or regional brewer.  The lower grain protein, wort protein, Kolbach Index, wort color, diastatic power and free amino nitrogen levels are characteristics that make this variety attractive to craft brewers as they were not found in barley cultivars currently available in the market.

To help ensure genetic purity, 'Brewski' two-rowed barley has been protected under PVPA Title V (certificate no. 202200267) and must be sold as a class of certified seed.
