DESCRIPTION
'ND Galaxy' black bean was released in
2025 by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. ND Galaxy has shown competitive agronomic performance, including higher yield, compared to other black varieties commonly grown in the region. ND Galaxy matures in approximately 97 days. This variety has resistance to bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) and improved intermediate resistance to common bacterial blight (CBB). Canning quality and seed shape and size are within acceptable commercial ranges.
To help ensure genetic purity, 'ND Galaxy' is protected under PVPA Title V (certificate No. pending) and must be sold as a class of certified seed.
